The CEUS Department recently hosted a winter reception celebrating a year of hard work and community. The Chair, Prof. Öner Özçelik, recognized the department’s collective achievements and introduced our wonderful new tenure-track and visiting faculty - Juho Korhonen, Réka Benczes, and Gergely Rajnai - as well as our outstanding new FLTAs, Adina Daniiar Kyzy and Henriett Papp, and our long-awaited and dedicated new department manager, Jessica Smith. The department also honored its graduating students, including 5 graduating PhD students, along with other achievements.
The event concluded with vibrant cultural performances by students and faculty, including songs, poetry readings, and dances in a wide range of languages - from Buryat and Uyghur to Turkish, Persian, Mongolian, Kyrgyz, Tibetan, and Hungarian - with an outstanding program led by CEUS PhD student Deniz Emir.
